"Speaking of Oats..." in February: The GrainGenes database
The next “Speaking of Oats…” (SOO) webinar will be held on Thursday, February 18th, at 11:00 am Eastern time (Canada/USA). Taner Sen (USDA-ARS, USA) and Victoria Blake (Montana State University, USA) will talk to us about “GrainGenes: A Curated and Functional Global Web Resource for Small Grains".
GrainGenes (https://wheat.pw.usda.gov/GG3/) is “a digital platform that serves small grains research communities as a centralized repository for peer-reviewed and curated data, and as a facilitator for community activities. It has been hard-funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture-Agricultural Research Service to ensure long-term data sustainability through a functional and integrated web interface for wheat, barley, oat, and rye”. Tutorials are available here.
Registration for this webinar is NOW OPEN. You can check the time offset for your location here.
The video recording from January's SOO webinar will be available soon. Thank you to Jean-Luc Jannink, David Waring, and Clay Birkett for describing the T3/Oat database and its applications so well. Thank you also to Patricia Ouimet for hosting, and to all who participated!
