“Speaking of Oats…” this month: The T3 Database and Applications to Oats
The video recording from December's "Speaking of Oats..." (SOO) webinar is now available on YouTube.
Many thanks to Stephen Harrison, Mónica Mathias, and Liliana Wehrhahne for describing how and why oats are grown in Chile and Argentina, and how the International Oat Nursery works to help oat breeders there and around the world. Thank you also to Eric DeBlieck and Jim Bradeen for being our hosts.
The next SOO webinar will be held on Thursday, January 21st, at 11:00 am Eastern time (Canada/USA). Jean-Luc Jannink (USDA-ARS, USA), Clay Birkett (USDA-ARS, USA), and David Waring (Cornell U., USA) will talk to us about the T3 Database and Applications to Oats. "T3" stands for "The Triticeae Toolbox". The T3 databases (for oat, wheat, and barley) contain unpublished data from field and genotyping trials, along with tools for data analysis. All three databases have recently been updated to the new Breedbase format. Tutorials are available for T3/Wheat, and are applicable to T3/Oat as well.
Registration for this webinar is NOW OPEN. Check the time offset for your location here.
Don't forget to take a look at the calendar at the bottom of the page for more webinars and virtual meetings coming up, including the AHDB Spring Oat Forum on January 6th. This month is also National Oatmeal Month - Enjoy!
