Speaking of deadlines, Catherine Howarth has provided information concerning some postdoc funding opportunities in the UK. Her letter is in the "Community News" section. Also in Community News, Vern Burrows has written a proposal for a new food revolution with a focus on oats.

In the "Research Reports" section, we have another update from Clare Saied regarding the T3/Oat database. There is also an article concerning crown rust resistance gene markers by Belayneh Yimer and Kathy Esvelt Klos.

Interviews with Albert Tenuta and Weikai Yan are featured in the popular press in a story about rust resistant oat varieties in Ontario.
