What oat adversities do you commonly encounter?

Speaking of oat adversaries:

In 1963, bird control in research plots was a special topic of the Oat Newsletter.

On the modern research farm (especially in the middle of Ottawa) most of these control measures are not an option.  Instead, we hire a bunch of border collies that are trained to chase the birds!
