"...the happier we'll be" (hums softly). Monica Mathias has submitted an article with excellent examples of how important it is to get together with other members of the community to increase understanding and make collaboration more effective.

There are lots of ways to do that, of course, with one being to attend the 12th International Oat Conference (OAT2026) in Pucón, Chile, this November. Registration for the conference is ongoing, and the official website has been updated to include details of the sessions being held on each day.

Among the discussions will be how oat germplasm is characterized and used. Please don't forget that the FAO is requesting help with their new list of oat descriptors. The link to their survey is here. The deadline to participate is September 8th!
