The 73rd Annual Australasian Grain Science Conference, Rockhampton, Australia

The 73rd Annual Australasian
Grain Science Conference

Grain Crops and Sustainable Food Systems

AGSA is heading north to the sunshine and warm winter weather of Rockhampton and CQUniversity for our 73rd conference, to be held from 26–29 September 2023. Straddling the Tropic of Capricorn and the Fitzroy River, Rockhampton is best known for its beef production and bull statues. But it is also the gateway to the broadacre wheat, cotton, sorghum, and pulse-producing areas of Queensland’s Dawson Valley and Central Highlands, as well as the launch pad for emerging crops for northern Australia, such as black sesame and nigella.

Rockhampton is a little-big-city well worth visiting for its burgeoning cultural scene, rich heritage, and fantastic food game. Yep, you read that right. Rockhampton has one heck of a food game – top-quality cuisine served with a side of good old-fashioned country hospitality. So, connect the dots – grains research, warm weather, and great food – and put Rockhampton in your diary for September 2023.

Further conference event details will be provided as planning develops.

We are looking forward to seeing you in Rockhampton 2023!
