“Some Yogi Berra-isms and How They're True in Plant Breeding” - Rex Bernardo (webinar)

NAPB Graduate Students present: "Some Yogi Berra-isms and How They're True in Plant Breeding" - NAPB-GSWG Webinar

"Join the NAPB GSWG as Dr. Rex Bernardo presents the webinar “Some Yogi Berra-isms and How They're True in Plant Breeding” on Wednesday, March 16th @ 8 am PST || 9 am MST|| 10 am CST || 11 am EST.

Yogi Berra, the great Yankees catcher and manager, had a unique way of saying things. Over the years, I've found that some of Yogi Berra's quotes apply to plant breeders and to plant breeding. Yogi Berra famously said "No one goes there nowadays, it’s too crowded" but don't worry and do come--there's space for you in this webinar.

Dr. Rex Bernardo is professor and endowed chair in maize breeding and genetics at the University of Minnesota. He obtained his undergraduate degree in the Philippines in 1984 and his Ph.D. degree in plant breeding from the University of Illinois in 1988. Dr. Bernardo developed the widely used GBLUP procedure in 1994, and most of his work has focused on marker-assisted breeding. Dr. Bernardo is director of the Plant Breeding Center at Minnesota, has written two textbooks, and teaches graduate courses in plant breeding and in professional skills for scientists."
